Gotta love being brought into a great little project like this: Genius Chef Chris Diminno, beautiful restaurant, and The Mushroom Council all partnering through Plate Magazine to talk about mushroomy goodness With Portland’s top tastemakers. It’s super fun to create a little mood around a simple idea.
The Davis family naturally embodies the lifestyle many of us would love for ourselves. For them it’s all about being together, cooking together and every Fall, making apple cider together from the small orchard on their family farm in gorgeous Eastern Washington. Just being there, photographing, and experiencing their traditions caused me to reflect and more greatly appreciate my own family and the seasonal foods that bring us together.
Fun to come across this ad from a series we did with our collaborators at HarvestPR last year. The US Apple Association is promoting healthy living through healthy eating. A no-brainer, right? So, make this for dinner tonight – it was delicious!

When Tasting Table called to photograph Mika Paredes, Chef de Cuisine at Beast, I jumped at the opportunity. Mika is super cool, super nice and oh yeah, she has a look that I see as a beautiful combination of tough and soft. Shooting with her was going to be awesome, and I loved creating a mood through the lighting that reflected her look, her aura. You can see Mika’s recipe and the other featured Sous Chefs on the Tasting Table site here.
What a great way to get fit, stay fit and bask in some unconditional dog-love. My crew and I photographed Katie and Maverick for Fitness Magazine, describing Katie’s journey to a healthier lifestyle through walking and running with her dog. I was totally envious of the fun those two were having! (I grew up with mutts, setters & a retreiver but sadly, am now dogless) The shoot was hilarious with Maverick being totally focused on the ball instead of my direction, typical Lab!
We worked with our friends at NORTH to create this poster image for Portland Dining Month. I loved collaborating with them to create a fantastical, whimsical image to convey the adventure that is Portland’s dining scene. We’re so psyched to try as many of these awesome restaurants as possible. The special offer is a great way to be introduced to new places and faces.
See a listing of the participating restaurants here, then go eat!!
It is great to see our friend and fellow cycling buddy, Ben Jacobsen featured on Travel Oregon’s Trip Ideas. If you’ve never visited the Travel Oregon website, you should. It’s a great source of not-your-everyday destinations and travel ideas.
“Architecture is the mediator between person and place,” opens Jeffrey Kovel in the Master Mavericks profile in this month’s issue of Luxe Magazine. I have so much respect for how Luxe uses black and while portraiture to convey the individual style of the people profiled in the magazine. It’s suitable for someone so distinctive.
